In-Person Group Classes FAQs

  • All classes require reservations through the Mindbody App - download at mindbody.com - and space is limited so sign up early!
  • Need to cancel? Please do so through the App at least 8-hours in advance so another member can take your spot.
  • A class without registered participants may be canceled hours ahead of time in the App. If you see a space open last minute and want to participate, please sign up in the App and come!
  • If you are registered for a class that requires cancellation or change, you will receive an email and/or text notification via Mindbody.
  • A class may be canceled for the season if attendance is less than three participants for 3+ consecutive weeks.
  • Some timeslots highlighted or marked with an asterisk * may not be starting yet, but are soon to come- look for it on Mindbody!
  • Times, formats, and instructors are subject to change.

Virtual Group Fitness

Virtual Group Fitness at the JCC is with Les Mills, the world-renowned expert in creating safe, science-based, progressive group fitness formats and instructors, has spent over a decade mastering the Virtual setting for health clubs to offer on-site. With their mission to “Create a Fitter Planet” and commitment to “Bring the best music, moves, and instructors together to create life-changing fitness shaped by science”, we surely endorse that and more here at the J.

Our first commitment to a Group Fitness class is with a live instructor. Alongside nearly 40-live classes with the best instructors in town, we are thrilled to infill time and offerings around these classes with a new on-site Virtual Program. 

How Les Mills Virtual Works

-The Strength and Stretch Studios are available for LM Virtual programming at all hours outside of Live Group Fitness times.
-Outside of your selected studio, locate the iPad kiosk and search for the class you would like to run.  Selections can include class type, length, and release including introduction and beginner classes.
-Select your desired program and press play.  The program will run automatically using the Studio’s TVs and sound system.  Be sure to set up equipment before starting the program.
-Equipment is provided for the programs in each studio.  Keep in mind which equipment is in which studio and which space would work best for your desired program.
-Enjoy your workout and ensure to wipe down and return all used equipment.

*Reminder – Les Mills Virtual is for ON-SITE use only and cannot be used in a home setting.

Health & Fitness for Youth & Teens

We hope to soon offer live settings with our Professional Instructor Team. Until then, we can now offer our Youth and Teen Community movement-based settings designed specifically to these ages through Les Mills “Born To Move” Virtual: You will find these classes offered in our Club-J Youth Program curriculum, and also on our Group Fitness schedule per specific age ranges. See below the three formats, descriptions of their focus, and a video showing a sample class.

For your young fitness enthusiast to take a class:

All BORN TO MOVE™ (BTM) participants will have a parent complete and sign a one-time Liability Waiver to take these Group Fitness classes.
This waiver can be accessed HERE or at the JCC Front or Fitness Desk.
The completed waiver will be kept with our Health & Fitness Team for reference as needed and is only required to be kept on file with our Health & Fitness Staff.
Any BTM participants under the age of 14 must have a parent walk to the room for the pre-scheduled timeslot, support them in getting acclimated, and ensure they treat the space and others who may be joining appropriately. Parents must stay on-site in case your BTM participant needs support during the class.
The video screen will start and end automatically at the designated day/ time the class is scheduled.
Please be sure to clean up after participation for the next class of participants.

Cardio-Power Formats

BODYATTACK™

A high-energy, sports-inspired workout with conditioning that combines athletic movements like running, lunging, and jumping and strength exercises such as push-ups and squats. Functional, fast-paced, and progressive means results here!

BODYCOMBAT™

A high-energy mixed martial arts-inspired workout. You'll learn how to punch, kick and strike your way to superior fitness and strength, as well as sharpen your mind and moves for self-defense and confidence. 100% pure empowerment!

GRIT™

A 30-minute High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout with three formats of focus and no props needed:

  • GRIT™ Athletic: A sports conditioning format to improve your overall athletic performance.

  • GRIT™ Cardio: A cardiovascular blast of continuous movement for improved heart rate intensities.

SH’BAM™

A fun-loving, insanely addictive dance workout. Your instructor will guide you through simple, sassy dance moves, all set to a party playlist. Results are great joy and fitness!

Strength Formats

BODYPUMP™

The original barbell workout for absolutely everyone. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition (reps), BODYPUMP™ gives you a total body workout that burns calories, strengthens and tones. Lift and shape to the rhythm of the music!

CORE™

The vital ingredient for a stronger body while chiseling your waistline. A stronger core makes you better at all things you do – it's the glue that holds everything together. This foundation class will serve you in all others, as well as in life & sport!

Mindbody Flow Formats

BARRE™

A modern version of classic balletic training; this 30-minute workout is designed to shape and tone postural muscles and build core strength. A wonderful flow in this body-shaping format!

BODYFLOW™

A new yoga class for anyone and everyone. This program offers a range of formats integrating various flow, core, flexibility, and strength-based movements set to music that will improve your mind, your body, and your life, leaving you feeling calm and centered.

Youth & Teen Formats

BORN TO MOVE™: 13-16 years

Featuring the freshest moves and the latest music, these classes get young people fit – fast. Integrating dance, mixed martial arts, sports conditioning, and more, something for everyone with body awareness the result!

NOTE: Teens ages 13-16 may attend the adult formats with a parent; however to attend a class alone, they must complete a “Virtual Group Fitness Certification”

BORN TO MOVE™: 8-12 years

When it comes to learning a whole lot of cool moves from dance, martial arts, and yoga this format finds kids asking for more. Each class is jam-packed with cool music, foundation fitness, and fun games.

BORN TO MOVE: 6-7 years
Focusing on fun rather than formal exercise routines, these classes are the ultimate way to introduce fundamental movement skills to youth. Children will move and sing their way through the simple choreography, developing body awareness, balance, coordination, and control. Best fresh format around for youth today!
