About Lisa

My name is Lisa Neuhof and I am excited to join the staff at the JCC. I have been in the business of massage and bodywork for 33 years. My journey and body of work has included working on professional athletes, actors, National Geographic explorers, children in a psychiatric unit, spas, and my own private practice. I taught craniosacral therapy at the Utah College of Massage Therapy and Healing Mountain Massage School. My modalities include craniosacral, ortho-bionomy, deep tissue, trigger point, cupping and aromatherapy.

Lisa Neuhof's Massage Offerings

Craniosacral

A gentle, hands-on technique aimed at releasing tension in the central nervous system to promote physical and emotional well-being. It focuses on the craniosacral system, which includes the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding and protecting the brain and spinal cord.

Ortho-Bionomy

A therapy that focuses on using comfortable positions, light touch, and subtle movements to stimulate the body’s self-healing mechanisms. It emphasizes working with, rather than against, the body’s natural alignment and patterns.

Deep Tissue

A type of massage that uses slow, deliberate strokes and firm pressure to target deeper layers of muscles and fascia (connective tissue). The goal is to break down adhesions (knots or bands of painful, rigid tissue) that can cause pain, inflammation, and limited movement.

Trigger Point

A specialized technique designed to identify and release "trigger points," which are sensitive, tight areas within muscles that can cause pain and discomfort, both locally and in referred areas. These trigger points are often described as "knots" in the muscle.

 Cupping

A traditional treatment that uses suction to promote healing, reduce pain, and improve circulation. Cupping involves placing special cups on the skin to create a vacuum, which lifts the skin and underlying tissues.

Aromatherapy

A holistic healing practice that uses natural plant extracts, primarily in the form of essential oils, to promote physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. It is sometimes referred to as essential oil therapy.
