Policies and FAQs

  • We are licensed to provide care for children 6 weeks through 7 years of age.
  • Care is available on a drop-in basis. Parents are required to be onsite at the JCC for the duration of the child’s visit.
  • We require a current registration form on-file for each child, complete with health information, primary contact, emergency contact, and authorized pickup individuals. You may obtain a registration form from the Hourly Child Care room on the second floor or from the JCC front desk.
  • We maintain up-to-date immunization records for each child in our care. Please email a copy of your child’s current vaccination history to
  • Children must be signed-in daily, with accurate drop-off and pick up times as well as a phone number where you can be reached.
  • We are a center for healthy children. If your child is experiencing symptoms of illness such as: fever, vomiting, diarrhea, persistent cough, extreme irritability and fatigue, or other symptoms indicative of communicable disease, we ask that you refrain from utilizing our center until your child has been symptom free for 24 hours. If a child develops symptoms while in our care, we will call you and we do expect a caregiver to be present to retrieve the child within ten minutes.
  • We offer cubbies on-site. If applicable, please send your child with a bottle and milk, diapers and wipes, and a change of clothes. We have water cups and basic snacks on-site. You may indicate whether you would like your child to receive a snack each day at sign-in. We are happy to allow your child to consume a snack from home. If your child has an allergy do send a safe snack for their enjoyment.
  • Our center is nut-free.
  • Sharing personal toys can be difficult for children. Please do not send any valuables. However, if your child needs their lovey or other comfort item, we will be happy to accommodate.
  • We use positive reinforcement and a strengths-based approach to help manage and guide the behavior of children. We provide choice and identify consequences.
  • The parent/guardian will be called if the staff is unable to comfort a crying child.
  • The parent/guardian will be asked to collect a child who endangers the safety of fellow children in our care. Children may always try again. Participation in a new child care environment can be a difficult transition for some children, we are happy to accommodate their pace and strive to ensure the experience is overall a positive one!
  • Prompt pick-up is important. We ask you to observe the pick-up time indicated at sign-in or the two hour maximum, so that we may reinforce predictability for children.
