Curious about Mahjong but not sure what all those tiles, racks, and mysterious calls mean? Join fellow JCC members and experienced players for a friendly, six-week introduction to American Mahjong. Designed for complete beginners, this class will walk you through the tiles, the National Mahjong League card, rules and terminology, building a hand, and the strategy that makes the game so much fun to play. More than just learning the rules, you’ll get plenty of hands-on practice in a relaxed, social setting with instructors who know the game and love playing it. The first four weeks will be instructional, then weeks 5 & 6 will be guided play. By the end, you’ll have the skills and confidence to sit down at a table and join a game of your own. Limit 8 people per session.
