Discover ballet through a somatic lens in this adult beginner class, where classical technique meets embodied awareness. This class invites you back into your body — no prior dance experience required, just curiosity and a willingness to move.

We’ll explore ballet fundamentals through a somatic pedagogy approach, prioritizing how movement feels over how it looks — building strength, alignment, musicality, and kinesthetic awareness from the inside out.

What to wear: Ballet shoes are welcome but not necessary — socks, jazz shoes, or sneakers all work fine. Choose clothing you feel good moving in.

Taught by Rebekah JoAnn Guerra, who holds an MFA in Ballet with an emphasis in Somatic Pedagogy from the University of Utah. Rebekah currently teaches ballet at all levels — from fundamentals to advanced — at Weber State University, along with courses in Dance Kinesiology and Improvisation. She is also choreographing an upcoming dance-theatre piece for The Field.
