The JCC invites our community to gather around a powerful story of resilience, mentorship, and possibility with Bill Schuffenhauer, Salt Lake Olympics bobsled medalist. Bill defied staggering odds. As a child, Bill moved through 17 foster homes, navigating instability that could have easily defined his future. Instead, through relentless dedication and the life-altering impact of mentorship, he forged a path to the Olympic podium. In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Bill’s story will anchor an evening that reaches beyond inspiration. Local partners including Boys & Girls Clubs, Prevent Child Abuse Utah, and Big Brothers Big Sisters will join the conversation, offering a practical lens on how community support, advocacy, and mentorship can change the trajectory of young lives.
This event asks a simple but urgent question: How can each of us show up for youth facing adversity, and turn concern into action? Attendees will leave not only moved, but equipped with concrete ways to get involved and make a meaningful difference for youth in our community.
