There are many ways that you can help the JCC to grow, thrive, and continue to enrich the Salt Lake Community.  The generosity of donors like you allows us the privileges and opportunity to do the following:

  • Enrich lives.

The JCC creates a positive environment for community involvement and builds lifelong friendships.  L’Chaim!  (To Life!)

  • Education opportunities.

The JCC provides an accredited preschool education, inclusive of those with special needs; senior programs; safe and enriching after school programs; and forums on topics of interest to the community.

  • Offer scholarships.

The JCC assists underprivileged children and those with special needs to attend preschool, summer camps, and after school programs.  We also offer assistance for low-income families in need of health and recreational outlets, for seniors on fixed or limited incomes, and to immigrant families.

  • Provide Jewish programming and outreach.

The JCC is the only culturally Jewish organization serving the entire Salt Lake Community.  Jewish culture and traditions are an important aspect of all our programs.

Provide community and tolerance programs.  From preschool and beyond, the values learned from Pirkei Avot (Jewish ethics) promote tolerance, understanding and acceptance.

Tribute Contributions

Placing a tribute at the JCC is a way to pay honor to your friends and family on joyous occasions, such as births, bar/bat mitzvahs, engagements, marriages, anniversaries, graduations and other life cycle events.  It also provides a way to express your condolences in memory of loved ones.

You may make a tribute to any programming fund you have a special interest in.  Gifts may be designated to the following areas:  General Fund, Early Childhood Center, Health and Fitness Center, Adult and Jewish Programming, Youth and Teen Department, Seniors and Inclusive Special Needs.

All tributes will be listed in the JCC newsletter and as requested, acknowledgements will be sent to those you wish to honor.  All tributes are fully tax-deductible.  The Jewish community and the community at large will benefit from your generosity.

Annual Giving

I.J. and Jeanné Wagner Society

Izzi

For Izzi Wagner, our beloved benefactor, the seeds of tolerance are sown in childhood. In memory of his wife Jeanné, Izzi made possible our current facility, where he hopes children of all backgrounds will grow up in an atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance, free of hatred and bigotry. It is in honor of Izzi’s generosity and wish for the community that we are establishing the I.J. and Jeanné Wagner Society. We invite you to support their dream of creating a Jewish Community Center where all members of the community can gather in peace and understanding and learn about Jewish culture and tradition.

Please become an annual member of the I.J. and Jeanné Wagner Society today. There are "giving circles" from $500 - $10,000. Join and be recognized for supporting Izzi's dream and the mission of the JCC.

Special Giving

The I.J. and Jeanne Wagner JCC hosts a number of fundraising events throughout the year.  You can help by volunteering your time, sponsoring special services to the event(s) or by attending.

In-Kind Gifts

Merchandise such as computers, school supplies, and furniture are tax-deductible.  In-kind gifts help us to free up money for other needs and to be able to provide more cultural events and enrichment courses.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is an important way that you can help us to continue thrive at the Salt Lake JCC.  You will find below a summary of the various ways you can make a financial commitment from your will, living trust, or other estate plans to assist the JCC in continuing to provide quality programs, scholarships, and a sense of Jewish community.

Planned Giving Options

  • Life Income Gifts

Charitable trusts and remainder trusts can provide you with life income and tax breaks while setting aside the remainder for the JCC.

  • Bequest

Please consider a bequest to JCC in your will.  It will save you estate tax dollars and will most surely help us to continue to grow.

  • Gifts of Life Insurance

Consider giving the JCC a gift of a life insurance policy that is no longer needed.  To receive a charitable deduction, name JCC both owner and beneficiary of the policy.  If annual premiums still need to be made and you pay them, they will also be tax deductible each year.

Careful planning can reduce or eliminate income taxes (including capital gain).  Planned giving can enhance your financial plans and security, while helping the JCC continue to provide for our community.  You should always consult your financial advisor or estate attorney on tax-related matters before making any decision.

Gifts of Stock

Giving long-term appreciated stock offers you a two-fold advantage: first, you avoid paying any capital gains tax on the increase in value of your stock and, second, you receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift.  Please let us refer you to our professional advisor for more information on stock gifts.
